Egg Baby Journal/Day 1 Tuesday, January 17, 2012 You meet up with your best friend after school and they tell you that they have become pregnant (if it is a girl) or that they have gotten someone pregnant (if it is a boy). 1. What is the first thing that you think you might say to your friend? 2. What options would you say to help that person through this situation? 3. Do you tell another friend and would it start a chain of gossip? 4. Would you stand by that person in whatever they decided to do?
- If my best friend told me they were pregnant, I would be in a total SHOCK. I'd have to ask them who the other parent was because I wouldn't know what else to say. I would help them out by, if they needed a place to stay ( not forever, just till they get everything figured out ) I would let them, and I would keep it to myself about it, until THEY wanted to tell people about the baby, because I don't feel it would be my place to tell anyone.
Egg Baby Journal/Day 2 Wednesday, January 18, 2012 Now that you are a parent of an egg baby, everyone in your family wants to see your new baby/babies. 1. What would it be like in your family for one day as you visit your relatives? a. Entry must be at least 1 paragraph long (at least 5 sentences). Your baby is sick. You have to decide if you or your guardian will stay home and which will go to work or school. 1. Who would win the battle of staying home and watching the baby? 2. If you are the one staying home, how would you get to the doctor’s office while your parents are working? Assuming you can’t drive because you do not have a license and you aren’t of legal age to operate a car or other vehicle.
- If I had to tell my family I was pregnant, or that I had a baby, I don't even know how they would react.. Half of my family although ashamed, would still help me with money and taking me to the doctor. while the other half wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with me. If me or my mom, were descussing who would stay home and takie the baby to the doctor and who would go to work/school. I think I would probably ask my grandparents to do it, because shes VERY good with kids, and she would support me more than anyone else would. Also because I can't get a job ( I'm to young ) But my mom would have one so she could get money to help with extra food and stuff, while I went to school and got the lovely thing called EDUCATION I needed.
Egg Baby Journal/Day 3 Thursday, January 19, 2012 You get up to take your child/children to Six Flags Over Georgia. 1. What friends or relatives are going with you? 2. How does the baby affect your having fun on the rides? 3. How will this change your selection of rides?
- If I decided to go to Six Flags with my baby, I would take my moma with me, because she LOVES that stuff. And I would take my fun away for my mom to have some fun and ride rides, while me and the baby rode the kids rides. And although it wouldn't be AS fun, Its would make my mom, and the baby happy. And thats all that matters.
Egg Baby Journal/Day 4 Friday, January 20, 2012 1. Should a mother give up her job to stay at home to raise her children? 2. Do you think that a mother is a better “stay-at-home” parent than a father? 3. Should mothers always get custody of the children after a divorce or separation? Why or why not?
- I think, If a mother has a good supporting family member or husband, I think its good for a woman to stay home and watch her kids ( and spend time with them ). And I've always thought a mother should stay home, not the father, because the mother went through having the baby so she's probably more mature about the situation. And depending on the problems the mother and father had, really has an affect on who gets custody of the child/children, because if the mothers a BAD mother, than the father should get custody, forrsure.
Egg Baby Journal/Day 5 Monday, January 23, 2012 1. Now that being a parent of an egg is over, do you think that you were a good parent during this project? 2. What were the most troublesome times during the carrying/caring for the egg? 3. IF this was an actual baby, would you be ready for the responsibility? Why or why not?
- Caring the egg/baby around was the hardest part about the project, because I was always worried someone would knock it out of the carrier it was in. I think I did pretty well on the project, and in my opinion, although I'm young, if I HAD to have the responsibility of an actual child, I think I could suck it up, and take care of it pretty well.
Egg Baby Journal/ Day 6 Tuesday, January 24, 2012 1. As you live in Northern Jefferson County, you may have come across physical abuse towards children. What could you do and who could you talk to if you had a feeling that abuse was happening to someone in your community?
- If I saw someone harming a child, I would go tell the police about what I had seen, where, and what the person and child looked like, so they could keep an eye on them.. And if the police saw aanything that looked wrong, they could do something about it.
